Story
Shruthi (Vani Kapoor ) dreams of having a successful career and so she chooses to be a wedding planner. On the other hand, Shakthi (Nani) a college going guy who doesn’t have any specific aims in life meets Shruti and due to attraction towards her including his father’s torture, he joins with her in the business. They begin their business as wedding planners for the brand Gatti Melam and soon, they find success. Also they fall for each other soon leading to closeness between them on a night. However, their ego clashes results them in split and what happens then forms crux.
Cast Performances
Nani looks charming and entertains with his ease in comedy timing and witty oneliners with his mannerisms. He shouldered the film at crucial episodes by adding in loads of energy into his role.
Vani Kapoor is an hourglass beauty and she has good on-screen presence but she doesn’t add the much needed energy. Simran is impressive in cameo. Surprisingly, there are none of the supporting cast who are popular in Telugu and this will disappoint our Telugu audiences.
Analysis
Gokul Kumar debuted with Aaha Kalyanam, and he tried to play a safe game with the content incorporating no major changes to the script except to suit it to Tamil audiences. However, too much of Tamil flavor including the culture, artists, wedding style makes audiences missing the local nativity. Added to it the missing lip sync fails to strike a bond with audiences. Despite too many emotional scenes in the second half, it fails in convincing the audiences to depth. Nani, Vani Kapoor’s pairing was good and their romantic scenes are colorful. Nani’s timing dialogues, his ease in acting are assets for the movie.
Dialogues are neat and the cinematography is pleasing however, music and lyrics fail for this much needed romantic comedy. Editing is crisp and as expected Yash Raj production values are rich.
