Rise Of Linga From Vishal’s Makutam Packs A Ferocious Punch

Puratchi Thalapathy Vishal, who scored consecutive commercial successes with Mark Antony and Madha Gaja Raja, is now gearing up for his most ambitious venture, Makutam. Currently in the final leg of production, the film is written and directed by Vishal himself. This indeed marks his directorial debut. Produced on a grand scale by Super Good Films, Makutam also stands as the prestigious banner’s 99th production.

The project has attracted immense attention ever since its announcement, thanks to its scale, vision, and emotional significance. The film became very emotional for everyone associated with it, following the demise of legendary producer RB Choudary. Makutam has steadily built anticipation through its striking promotional material, while the recently released teaser further amplifies expectations.

The makers have now kick-started the musical promotions with the first single, “Rise Of Linga,” an electrifying track that introduces Vishal’s character in a blazing fashion. Designed as a character anthem, the song establishes Linga as a commanding presence whose very name evokes fear, power, and authority.

Composed by GV Prakash Kumar, the track thrives on pulsating beats, raw energy, and a rugged gangster-rap flavour that perfectly complements the character’s larger-than-life aura. The aggressive rhythm and hard-hitting arrangement create a charged atmosphere, while the lyrics celebrate Linga’s fearless attitude, unmatched dominance, and towering reputation.

Adding further intensity to the number is Vishal himself, who joins GV Prakash Kumar and V7H on vocals. Their spirited rendition injects authenticity and swagger into the track, making it an impactful character introduction rather than just another promotional song.

More than a musical release, “Rise Of Linga” serves as a declaration of intent. With its explosive soundscape, powerful lyrics, and commanding presentation, the song successfully captures the essence of Linga and offers a glimpse into the high-voltage world of Makutam.

Anjali, Dushara Vijayan, Thambi Ramaiah, and Arjai are the other prominent cast members.

The film boasts a strong technical crew, with Richard M Nathan and Abinandhan handling cinematography, NB Srikanth overseeing editing, and G Durairaj taking charge of production design.

The movie is planned for its theatrical release in July.
