After months of extensive filming across challenging terrains and coastal landscapes, the team MANDAADI recently completed principal photography and the post-production works are now happening at a brisk pace. Backed by RS Infotainment and produced by Elred Kumar, the film demanded an ambitious production effort, with significant portions shot along the shores of Ramanathapuram. Helmed by director Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, MANDAADI unfolds against a rarely explored sporting backdrop, offering a narrative rooted in the lives, struggles, and spirit of coastal communities. Meanwhile, the makers announced the film’s release date. MANDAADI will hit the screens worldwide on September 4th.
Leading the film is Soori, who underwent extensive preparation for the role and is said to have delivered one of the most demanding performances of his career. A major attraction of the project is actor Suhas, who makes his Tamil cinema debut in a character unlike anything he has attempted before. Stepping into an antagonist-like role, Suhas embraced a dramatic transformation and dedicated close to 100 shooting days to the project, underlining his commitment to the film. Mahima Nambiar plays the female lead, while Sathyaraj, Ravindra Vijay, Mithun, and Balasaravanan add further depth to the ensemble cast.
The release date poster looks quite interesting. It shows the protagonist and the antagonist standing face-to-face on a rocky shore against a breathtaking sunset backdrop. While Suhas holds a sword, Soori gives a stern gaze. With the sea, fishing boats, and dramatic skies in the background, the poster reflects the film’s coastal setting and hints at an intense conflict between the characters.
On the technical front, MANDAADI boasts an accomplished crew. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the soundtrack, with cinematography handled by SR Kathir. DRK Kiran oversees production design, Pradeep E Ragav takes charge of editing, and the action spectacle is crafted by Peter Hein, Dhilip Subburayan, and Mahesh Mathew.
The movie has generated enough curiosity with its promotional material, and the makers are planning to intensify the promotional activities in the coming days.
