Raju Gari Gadhi Movie Review

Anchor turned director Ohmkar failed to score a hit with his debut venture Genius, but that didn’t stop him
direction and production, and he is back with a horror comedy this time titled Raju Gari Gadhi.

Promoted on a large scale, let’s see what Ohmkar has in store for us with Raju Gari Gadhi Movie Review.

Storyline

The story moves around old fort Raju Gari Mahal in Nandima, where it’s surrounded by some mysterious deaths. To cash in on the craze a TV channel comes up with an interesting reality show choosing seven to spend seven days in the dreaded bungalow setting a whopping prize money of 3 crores for winner.

The contestants enter the Mahal and in the process of chasing the mystery, what consequences did they face is the rest of the story.

Artists Performances

Ohmkar has given much performance scope and heroic attitude role to his brother Ashwin in the film, and he is convincing in the role.

Chetan Cheenu gets meaty role and he is ok.

Dhanya Balakrishna is consistent,

Shakalaka Shankar and Dhanraj is hilarious and major asset in the first half. They contributed the major part to the non-stop humorous sequences.

Actress Poorna is wasted in a poor role; Vidyullekha Raman joined the cast to evoke laughs, while Eesanya is glamorous.

Prabhas Srinu, Raghu Babu, Jabardasth Appa Rao, Jeeva filled the screen while Posani and Sapthagiri are restricted to hardly few scenes.

Technician’s Role

Gnanam’s camera work is quite good considering the film’s budget and the sound track by Sai Karthik is equally good. Story is nothing unique but the screenplay is taut and manages you to glue to the screens with the curiosity factor.

Ohmkar’s direction strikes the right chord with target audiences, while Sai Madhav Burra has done an impressive job. Sahi Suresh’s art work does need a special mention of this medium-budget film, where the Mahal set is quite good. Editing is crisp and is one of the major assets. Production values of Oak, Varaahi and AK are standard.

Analysis

A haunted bungalow followed by mysterious murders is no novel concept or premise to Telugu audiences. The story line is pretty familiar, but Ohmkar surprises us by delivering the goods roping in some well-known popular comedians. The film is racy and the comedy begins as soon as the characters and premise is established.

The cast have all done a convincing job justifying their roles, and the first half is definitely a comedy treat. Sai Madhav Burra's dialogues are added asset carrying good humor elements. The satires of Dhanraj, Shakalaka Shankar and Vidyukella worked positive for the proceedings.  The second half however slackens pace though the curiosity factor is maintained throughout.

The storyline is pretty routine but it is the narrative and story-telling that has taken the movie to another level. The technical values are good and a serious ambience is maintained all through. All in all, Raju Gaari Gadhi sure surprises with a package of the needed commercial elements especially the right mix of horror and comedy.

Finally

Raju Gaari Gadhi- Well-made hilarious entertainer with not much of horror!
