Varun Tej’s upcoming gangster-drama titled Valmiki is slated for a grand scale release on September 20. The pre-release business of Valmiki have fetched good prices from all sections, and the latest we hear is the film's digital and satellite rights are sold out for a good price of Rs 10 crores.
Valmiki satellite rights are acquired by channel Star Maa. Varun Tej is earning applauds for his sensational makeover as a gangster and Pooja Hegde plays his lady love. The film is the official remake of the acclaimed Tamil movie Jigarthanda.
Other supporting roles were essayed by Atharvaa Murali, Brahmaji and Mirnalini. Ram and Gopi Achanta bankrolled Valmiki. On the other hand, Valmiki has landed in title controversy, as Boya Community leaders are opposing naming the gangster film after great sage Valmiki.
