Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan's 96 helmed by Cinematographer-turned-director Prem Kumar was a huge hit in Tamil and it's being remade in Telugu. 96 Telugu remake is titled Jaanu and stars Sharwanand and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles.
Govind Vasantha who scored audio for original version is retained for the Telugu version too. C Prem Kumar is also retained for wielding the megaphone. Jaanu title and first look poster featuring Sharwanand were unveiled.
“Another special film and a role that has challenged me to be better than I was yesterday,” Samantha tweeted.
Jaanu story is all about a lonely photographer who is stuck with the memories of his school-age love. The film is being shot in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Maldives and Kenya. The movie is under post-production phases.
