Madhuri Dixit Raises the Bar of Sarees by Donning 'Rekha' Created by Real Flowers from Tye Temple
Madhuri Dixit has once again made a traditional fashion statement, and this time too, she has set the bar quite high. The Dhak Dhak girl donned a deep pink saree, 'Rekha', a drape created from real flowers from the Tye temple. Redefining the meaning behind circular fashion, the special ensemble took nearly seven days, with a team of women bringing life to the piece.
The cosmos and marigold blooms on her were collected from temple floors. Offered, prayed over. Instead of making their way to the river, they came here together to create a fashion statement, lying directly onto fabric. The petals were steamed slowly until they released their own pigment into the cloth, casting a natural dye in its most direct form.
Her pink-to-gold gradient came from sappanwood bark and marigold petals, all of which were boiled into an eco-friendly colour. Her tassels glow from onion skins. At a time when the women who made her drape were always told that their knowledge was just household - just the kitchen, just a temple routine - turns out that the kitchen and the temple built a saree.
Madhuri paired the drape with a high-neck blouse featuring a delicate knotted detail. She styled her hair in a clean bun and adorned it with fresh pink flowers, and enhanced her outfit's appeal through selective jewellery, blush makeup - including rosy cheeks, pink lips, and subtle eyeshadow.
This time too, Madhuri Dixit painted her fashion canvas with the most vibrant colours only to create another masterpiece!
