Hyderabad:

Gyaani Dhaar (Subtitle: The Liberator), a historical film based on true incidents from the lives of the Gor Banjara community during the Nizam era nearly 150 years ago, was officially launched with the release of its poster and teaser at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad. Produced by Sohanlal Rathod and Kesula Brothers under the JK Productions banner and directed by Keshunandan, the film is being made simultaneously in Telugu, Banjara, and Hindi.

The grand event was attended by renowned writer V. Vijayendra Prasad, People's Star R. Narayana Murthy, senior director V. Samudra, and Mumbai-based filmmaker Sanjeev Kumar Rathod, who unveiled the teaser and posters.

Speaking at the event, V. Vijayendra Prasad said, "The Banjaras once built a vast trading empire stretching from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and even up to the borders of Persia and Kabul. They were so prosperous that they even lent money to kings. During Emperor Akbar's reign, the brave Banjara woman Maloki successfully argued before the emperor and restored the community's trading routes. The glorious legacy of Banjara clans such as Rathods, Jadhavs, and Pawars deserves to be revived. Gyaani Dhaar reflects this rich heritage, and I wholeheartedly wish the film great success."

R. Narayana Murthy said, "Today marks the birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, the birth anniversary of the great Banjara warrior Lokesha Banjara, and the death anniversary of Doddi Komarayya, the first martyr of the Telangana Armed Struggle against the Nizam and feudal oppression. Releasing the teaser of Gyaani Dhaar on such a historically significant day is a commendable decision. I hope this film, which champions the rights and dignity of indigenous communities, becomes a grand success."

Director Keshunandhan said, "This film portrays the heroic struggles of the Banjaras to protect nature and the hardships they endured during the Nizam rule. Based on a powerful story by writer Prem, we have made every effort to present it with authenticity by involving local tribal communities, educated members of the Banjara society, and native artists. The emotions I experienced on the first day of shooting at Kakatiya University are the same emotions I feel today. This film reflects my life, my struggles, and my dream. Gyaani Dhaar is a heartfelt tribute to the Banjara community and its untold history. I sincerely thank Vijayendra Prasad garu, Narayana Murthy garu, Samudra garu, and Sanjeev Kumar garu for their blessings."

Filmmaker Sanjeev Kumar Rathod said, "My recent film Maharashtra Files also explored the Banjara backdrop and received an excellent response. With Gyaani Dhaar, Keshunandan is taking Banjara cinema to a new level. Considering the large Banjara population across India, showcasing their culture and history through cinema is truly praiseworthy. I extend my best wishes to the entire team."

Senior director V. Samudra appreciated actor Lohith Kumar, who hosted the event, and congratulated actors Jai Singh, Surya, Sambayya, the entire cast and crew, and members of the media for supporting the film.

The producers and executive producers stated that the film was made with a sense of social responsibility to remind today's younger generation, who are moving from tribal settlements to cities, not to forget their roots, traditions, and cultural heritage. They appealed to audiences to support the film.
