Actor Shivaji Raja Launches Trailer of 'Dakshina Kali' Starring Archana in keyrole
The trailer for the upcoming Telugu film Dakshina Kali, produced under the Srinidhi Creations banner, was unveiled in Hyderabad. Directed by Thota Krishna, the movie stars Archana in the lead role as Ammavaru (the divine mother), with Chandragiri Subbu, Priyanka Sri, Chandrakala, and Afzad Azad in key roles. Produced by Meesala Vani, the film has wrapped up all production activities and is ready for release.
The launch event saw actor Shivaji Raja, Producer Council Secretary Prasanna Kumar, and EC Member Padmini as chief guests, who officially released the trailer. Following the unveiling, the film's unit organized a press conference where team members shared their insights.
Actor Shivaji Raja commended the producer's boldness: "It takes tremendous courage for a woman to make a film like this. It's not about money; it's about determination. The trailer makes it seem as if Goddess Kali herself inspired her to create this movie. Archana has delivered an outstanding performance, and the hero and heroine have showcased excellent acting. I sincerely wish director Krishna and producer Meesala Vani a massive hit with this strong concept."
Producer Council Secretary Prasanna Kumar praised director Thota Krishna: "Thota Krishna is an exceptional talent who can make a film on a 50 lakh budget that rivals a 50 crore production. He has a strong command over commercial elements and even the Hindi market. Even veteran producer Shyam Prasad Reddy faced difficulties at one stage, but Arundhati pulled him through, after which he happily moved to television. Meesala Vani, who has produced films before, is now starting her second innings. I hope this film becomes a blockbuster like Arundhati, enabling her to continue making movies. Archana has performed wonderfully as the divine mother. I wish everyone involved great recognition, and for producer Meesala Vani, a definite grand success that brings both profits and acclaim."
Film Chamber Council Secretary and EC Member Padmini said: "Just as the song 'Meesala Pilla' has become a huge hit, I wholeheartedly wish that Dakshina Kali, directed by Thota Krishna and produced by Meesala Vani, achieves the same level of success."
Director Thota Krishna expressed thanks: "I extend my gratitude to Shivaji Raja, Prasanna Kumar, Padmini, and Ramesh for attending the trailer launch. This is the fruit of the perseverance and hard work from all artists and technicians."
Dasari Venkata Krishna, the dialogue writer, added: "I'm thankful to director Thota Krishna, producer Vani, line producer Nagavamsi, and everyone for giving me the opportunity to write dialogues for such a wonderful film."
Line Producer Meesala Nagavamsi (Nani) shared: "This is our modest attempt to showcase our village deities, Pothuraju, and rural festivals through Dakshina Kali. We believe it will definitely succeed. I wish Archana, hero Subbu, heroine Priyanka, villain Azad, Chandrakala, and every technician that this film becomes a milestone in their careers."
Producer Meesala Vani reflected: "As a female producer entering the industry, I always aspired to achieve something through hard work. I know audiences support good films, so I wrote the story of Dakshina Kali—a subject centered on the divine mother—and produced it myself. Despite numerous challenges, standing on this stage today is all thanks to Her grace. Every moment and action is by the mother's blessings, along with the unforgettable support from my movie team and family. You've seen many devotional movies, but this concept is slightly different: 101 divine mothers, meaning 100 sisters and one brother, Pothuraju. No films have come with this concept before. I wanted to depict the sibling bond. Films often show the goddess, but no one has highlighted Pothuraju until now. In the climax, we've given him a special significance, explaining why he protects his sister. The film has turned out wonderfully. Archana has acted brilliantly as the divine mother. I've known Shivaji Raja for 20 years. I thank Prasanna Kumar, Padmini, and Shivaji Raja for standing by us and breathing life into small films like ours. I urge audiences to embrace and bless this upcoming release, making it a big hit."
Hero Chandragiri Subbu noted: "Films based on deities always succeed. Thanks to the director and producer for giving me the opportunity to act in such a good movie with a divine mother concept."
Heroine Priyanka Sri said: "Director Thota Krishna gave me this chance without judging my acting abilities. I'm grateful to the director and producer for letting me play the heroine in such a fine film."
Villain Afzad Azad shared: "In this Srinidhi Creations production by Meesala Vani, I play a pivotal role. The mother is a power, and my character is well-designed with destructive energy, like evil force. With excellent graphic scenes, I hope this film becomes a massive hit like Ammoru."
Actress Chandrakala added: "Heartfelt thanks to the director and producer for introducing me to the Telugu screen for the first time."
Dakshina Kali offers a unique devotional narrative blending rural traditions, sibling bonds, and divine elements, and the team is confident in its appeal to audiences. The release date will be announced soon.
